Zurab Tsereteli`s "Disneyland" interest Prosecutor`s Office
Moscow prosecutor office has opened two criminal cases, where the name of the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli and his unrealized project of "Russian Disneyland" appears.
The information was provided by anonymous source in Prosecutor`s office, but there has appeared no official comments on it yet. The third case is pleaded by Prosecutor`s office of Environment protection agency.
Zurab Tsereteli won the tender for constructing children`s entertainment park in Nizhny Khamovniky in 1992. He received 300 hectares of land for "permanent not limited in time end use" for the park construction. The investment volume was supposed to constitute $ 2 to 3 billion. "Non-profit making Fund of children`s park of wonders" was founded for funds gathering. That is it`s activity, which has aroused interest in Prosecitor`s office.
The first suit against the Fund was filed in connection with taxes non-payment to city exchequer in 1999-2001 (the Fund received a profit out of land lease inMnevniky to commercial organizations).
The second suite about illegal business undertakings was filed in connection with the way the Fund commanded the received from lessees money.
The third suit was filed by Prosecutor`s office of Environment protection agency on the article about violation of "especially protected territories and objects of nature" regime.
The suits appeared on initiation of the deputy head of Russian Federal Service for Environment Protection Oleg Mitvol.
Zurab Tsereteli called the information about criminal prosecution "nonsense and bluff". He thinks, that the suits against him has been filed (if any) by people, who are interested in house-building on "elite land" in Mnevniky.
